Field Service (Electrical):

Blue Ridge Automation Inc. is seeking to fill a full-time electrical field service position. Ideal candidates should have a desire to expand into automation field work.  This position’s primary responsibility will be traveling to sites and completing electrical installations including but not limited to running various types of conduits and pulling wire for items such as low voltage sensor cables or 480v motor circuits.  In addition, the candidate will work with field devices and plc’s and help support other Blue Ridge departments and operations.

 

 Job Details

  • Location: Indianapolis, Indiana–travel anticipated: Overnight stays would be rare

Job Requirements

  • 2 years commercial/industrial electrician experience
  • Installing PVC, EMT, and Rigid conduit and enclosures
  • General electrical concepts
  • Conductor installation experience – wire, terminals, insulation, and torque requirements
  • Device wiring such as lights and receptacles
  • Drawing/blueprint reading
  • The ability to use ladders, scissor lifts, boom lifts

Automation Technician

Blue Ridge Automation Inc. is seeking to fill multiple on-site technical support positions. Ideal candidates are adept at troubleshooting, solution-oriented, hands-on technicians who focus on customer service. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to maintain motivation in an independent work environment.

Experience will be considered but is not mandatory. Experience in the food and beverage industry may benefit applicants. Entry level positions are available, and training will be provided.

Automation Engineer/PLC Programmer

Blue Ridge Automation Inc. is always seeking Automation Engineers/PLC Programmers experienced in controls and automation integration and PLC/SCADA development for industrial automation systems. Qualified candidates will have hands-on systems integration experience, specifically PLC and HMI programming and configuration, field work, troubleshooting, as well as start-up and commissioning experience. Experience in the food and beverage industry may benefit applicants.

Direct hire positions are currently available in the Midwest. Positions could be remotely based from a home office with 50% travel to customer sites for project and start-up work.

Systems Engineer

Blue Ridge Automation Inc. is currently seeking resumes from prospective systems engineers. Qualified candidates will have experience with multiple manufacturing platforms, languages, and technologies—

  • Communication Protocols—OPC-UA, MQTT, REST API
  • Databases—MSSQL, Postgres, MySQL, Oracle etc.
  • Custom application development—C#, JavaScript, .NET, Node.js, React, etc.
  • HMI, SCADA, and MES Systems with platforms including but not limited to Ignition, TrakSYS, Aveva, and Sepasoft
  • MES level solutions such as OEE/Downtime, SPC, Traceability, and ERP Connectivity

Applicants should be team centric and customer service minded. Strong trouble-shooting skills and innovative forward thinking are vital for success in this position.

Job Requirements

  • Actively engage in the solution design, architecture, development, and deployment of assigned projects.
  • Utilize third party platforms such as Ignition, TrakSYS, Aveva, and Sepasoft as well as custom developed applications for customer engagement.
  • Understand and troubleshoot mid to high level manufacturing software.
  • Perform complex problem-solving tasks that involve reviewing information, actively detecting problems, developing, and evaluating options, selecting, and implementing the best solutions.
  • Understand complex plant floor operations and make proactive decisions by examining all available information and making timely decisions.
  • Communicate with clients, support channels, and vendors on a regular basis providing documentation as needed.
  • Research new features and technologies for solution concepts.
  • Build and use company standards for the applicable created solutions.

Project Manager

Blue Ridge Automation Inc. is currently seeking resumes from prospective Project Mangers. Project Managers will oversee management of projects.  The project manager will make sure that the projects are currently on track and set up for future success.  Timelines, benchmarks, and forecasts will be created and managed by this position.  The project manager is responsible for the success of the project both inside of Blue Ridge with team members as well as outside of Blue Ridge with customers.  Project managers will need to be able to work with sales for scope clarification, change orders, and other potential value-add opportunities.

  • Location: Indiana- some travel possible
  • Pay: $90k-$125k Based on experience
  • Education: BS in Engineering Preferred 

Job Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in Industrial Automation/System Integration/Industrial Services—preferably with a blend of technical and project management experience. 
  • Demonstrate previous department or group ownership by means of budget, headcount, and goal setting. 
  • Familiarity with Project Management Principles and standardsPMP is highly valued, but it is not a requirement. 
  • Customer interfacing experience mandatoryPersons of interest must show a history of successfully managing customer delivery experience. 
  • Ability to lead group problem solving activities when appropriate. 
  • Candidate must be willing to lead by example and enrich the Blue Ridge core values: Grit, Character, Progress, Excellence, Vision, and Teamwork. 
  • Successful applicants will have a history of being able to ascertain both functional and financial health of ongoing projects and manage timelines. 
  • The Project Manager shall be able to execute a meaningful and thoughtful review process for direct reports. 
  • This position will have 3-5 direct reports, with no more than 10 direct reports at any time. 
  • The Project Manager will work with the Sales team and Engineering team to ensure realistic delivery targets for Projects. 
  • Project Managers report directly to the Business Unit Manager. 
  • Project Managers can expect to manage $1M-$3M in annual project-based revenue.
